Featuring:
Internationally acclaimed violinist Orsolya Korcsolán, who lives in Vienna, studied at the Liszt Academy, before taking Sir Georg Solti’s advice and going to New York to study. She earned her master’s degree at the Juilliard School, where Dorothy DeLay and Itzhak Perlman were her mentors.
She is a committed student and interpreter of the work of composers who were silenced during the Holocaust. Her most recent record features the chamber pieces of Sándor Kuti, an extremely talented composer of the interwar period. Kuti’s compositions are uniquely valuable, or as Georg Solti put it, “he could have become one of the greatest Hungarian composers.”
According to Scene magazine, her playing is “heartbreakingly beautiful,” the reviewer of Pizzicato thinks listening to her is “a sweeping experience,” and Crescendo Magazine complimented a performance mode “full of emotions.” Time Magazine praised the magical technique, wonderfully individual sound and captivating stage charisma that are showcased in her performances, which, following her New York debut, are now widely anticipated internationally.
